Laurie Bertrand

owner, principal designer

Laurie Bertrand began her creative and graphic design career in Houston, TX in the early 2000s. Before that, she worked in several fields, including corporate event planning and managing a customer relations department of more than 30 people. Through those roles, she collaborated closely with design teams and saw firsthand how effective design could streamline communication—and how poor design could create unnecessary problems.

Inspired by a love of design and a desire to pair exceptional customer service with high‑quality visuals, Laurie transitioned into a new career in graphic design. In 2006, she and her husband, Mark, moved back to her hometown of Sioux Falls, SD, where she launched her freelance business: Laurie Bertrand Graphic Design.

Over the years, Laurie has honed her expertise in print, branding, and website design. She is dedicated to helping clients bring their brands to life through storytelling, compelling imagery, and thoughtful, beautiful design.

Let’s get to work.

2020 AIGA Collaboration

In the fall of 2020 she collaborated with AIGA South Dakota to design a USPS postcard to promote the 2020 Election. “AIGA South Dakota asked five area designers to create compositions celebrating our opportunity to have a voice in our democracy—to vote. We worked with local letterpress shop Smith & Smith to print these designs as hopeful, non-partisan, 2-color postcards that people can send to encourage friends and family members to vote.”
