Laurie Bertrand
owner, principal designer
Laurie Bertrand began her creative and graphic design career in Houston, TX in the early 2000s. Before that she worked in various fields that included event planning for corporate events as well as managing a 30+ person customer relations department. She worked closely with design departments and understood first hand how helpful good design could be, and how a poor design caused unforeseen problems.
Inspired by a love of design and a desire to combine great customer service and quality graphics she made the move into a new career in graphic design. In 2006 Laurie and her husband, Mark, moved back to her hometown of Sioux Falls, SD where she started her own freelance graphic design service: Laurie Bertrand Graphic Design.
Over the years she’s honed her craft in print, branding and website design. She is devoted to serving her clients by bringing their brands to life through storytelling, images, and beautiful graphic design.
2020 AIGA Collaboration
In the fall of 2020 she collaborated with AIGA South Dakota to design a USPS postcard to promote the 2020 Election. “AIGA South Dakota asked five area designers to create compositions celebrating our opportunity to have a voice in our democracy—to vote. We worked with local letterpress shop Smith & Smith to print these designs as hopeful, non-partisan, 2-color postcards that people can send to encourage friends and family members to vote.”
